Tonquin Pendant with Rice Pearls

This is one of my bigger pieces – about 27mm in diameter and set into sterling silver. To create the pendant, I have used a traditional china made by Alfred Meakin, their ‘Tonquin’ design. (I have also made a dramatic ring in the same pattern.)
For an unusual detail I have added three old-fashioned Japanese rice pearls – these are now extremely difficult to find but make a perfect addition. The pendant is presented on a top quality 18″ silver snake chain.
